As 101 have previously covered, new owner Todd Boehly is ready to hand Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel £200m to spend this summer after his takeover was finally sealed by the Government, the Premier League and Europe.

Now, a further insight into Chelsea’s transfer plans has been provided by Dean Jones, who reports that Tuchel has been given special permission this summer to go and sign the players he likes.

On top of that, Jones confirms that the Chelsea boss really likes PSG defender Presnel Kimpembe:

“Tuchel really likes Kimpembe and he’s made it clear to the recruiters that’s the case,” Said Jones. “And Tuchel is getting special permission this summer to go and get the players he likes, so probably one to watch out for at this moment in time just in case – an interesting one.”

Kimpembe, now 26, is a product of PSG’s youth system, having only ever lined out in the colours of the French champions.

All told, Kimpembe has featured on 226 occasions for PSG, playing key roles in their countless domestic trophies.

He is under contract at the Parc des Princes until 2024.

It is not known how much Chelsea would have to pay to land the French international this summer.
