Chelsea & Arsenal learn surprisingly cheap asking price for Declan Rice

Declan Rice is expected to leave West Ham this summer.

Declan Rice has proven himself a top quality defensive midfielder for both club and country over the last few years.

And whilst West Ham fans would love to see Rice remain at their club going forward, it seems very likely that the 23-year-old will be on the move to one of the top-six in the future.

For much of Rice’s time at West Ham, he has been linked with a move back to Chelsea, where he played as a boy.

However, speculation last month suggested that the Blues are not the only club in London with a shot at Rice, with Arsenal also seemingly in the picture.

Now, both sides have learnt how much West Ham want for Rice.

As per Fabrizio Romano: “I think the price could now be around £90-100m, but it depends on many factors and it’s really too early to predict the final price tag.

“Arsenal and Chelsea have always been interested but let’s see if Manchester United or Man City will join the race.”

Given Enzo Fernandez just joined Chelsea for £106m+, you would have assumed someone like Rice who has been a mainstay in the Premier League for several years now, would cost more than the Argentine.
