Brighton’s Leicester Leonardo Ulloa deal is on

Brighton & Leicester Leonardo Ulloa

For the entirety of the January transfer window, Brighton have been looking to sign strikers.

Brighton are 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the drop zone.

Moreover, they’ve only scored 17 goals in 24 league matches this season. Only rock-bottom Swansea (15) have scored less.

If Chris Hughton’s team hope to beat the drop they need to start finding the back of the net.

Theyt’ve already broken their club transfer record bringing in Jurgen Locadia for 14 million pounds from PSV.

And on Saturday night it’s beginning to seem likely that Leicester forward Leonardo Ulloa is on his way to the Amex Stadium until the end of the season.

According to the Argus’s sport reporter Andy Naylor, a loan deal for Ulloa is “nearing… close but not done.”

Ulloa should be itching for a move from the King Power Stadium having failed to secure a starting spot this season for Leicester.

Ulloa moved to Leicester from Brighton in 2014 following two successful seasons in the Championship. He scored 26 goals in 58 appearances for the Seagulls.

Leicester moved into round five of the FA Cup on Saturday after a 5-1 away win at Peterborough.

Foe the record, Ulloa wasn’t in the Leicester matchday squad for the cup tie.

The game was over as a contest inside the opening half hour.

New striker Fousseni Diabate curled home the opener 9 minutes into his debut. Kelechi Iheanacho then scored a first half double to put the game to bed.

Andrew Hughes put Posh on the board before the hour mark. Before Diabate scored a late second and Onyinye Ndidi scored a fifth in injury time.
