Brighton transfer news

In this article we will bring you all of today’s Brighton transfer news. Make sure to check back tomorrow for more updates.

Brighton eye Martin Braithwaite

Firstly, Brighton appear to be eyeing a move for Martin Braithwaite.

The Dane is currently on the books of FC Barcelona, for whom he featured 42 times last season.

However, Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay have since arrived at the Camp Nou and, according to Sport, Barca are now looking to cash in on Braithwaite to help reduce their wage bill. Brighton are named as one of the clubs monitoring the 30-year-old.

Sport go on to state that Brighton will be able to afford Braithwaite when they sell Ben White to Arsenal. Barcelona are believed to want €15m for the forward.

However, it is understood that Braithwaite would prefer to join West Ham or Wolves.

Brighton sell Jahanbakhsh

Elsewhere, Brighton have been given a boost to their transfer kitty with the sale of Alireza Jahanbakhsh.

The winger joined the Seagulls from Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar in 2018, but would score just four and assist two in 61 outings during his stint in England.

In turn, Jahanbakhsh has joined Feyenoord for a currently undisclosed fee.

Marc Cucurella targeted

Brighton look to be in the market for some reinforcements at left-back this summer.

The Daily Mail report that the Seagulls are working on a deal to sign Marc Cucurella from Getafe.

Cucurella’s contract is believed to possess a release clause of around £15m, which seems like a reasonable fee for someone of his age and talent.

The former Barcelona man is currently preparing to represent Spain at the Olympics, though, which may see progress towards any potential transfer slowed.
