Brazilian starlet Tete ‘dreams’ of playing for Liverpool or Manchester United / Amad Diallo will not return to Italy
Brazilian midfielder Tete has spoke of his ‘dream’ to play for Man Utd or Liverpool but Amad Diallo deal makes Old Trafford route unlikely.
Tete wants United/Liverpool move
The January window often marks an opportunity for players to seek moves to high-profile clubs. It is a tactical period during which players, agents and football clubs themselves can conduct interviews, and convince one another to join forces.
This certainly appears to be the case for Brazilian attacking midfielder Tete. The 20-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk player revealed in a recent interview that he has hopes of playing for one of Liverpool or Manchester United in the future, having broken into the Ukrainian Premier League at a young age.
“I dream of playing for Liverpool, Manchester United, but I’m focused on Shakhtar. We have a few years of contract. I will play my part, I am concerned with giving my best to Shakhtar,” he said.
The young Brazilian was instrumental in Shakhtar Donetsk’s progression through their Champions League group. The Ukrainian champions beat Real Madrid twice, with Tete having bagged a goal and assist in a 3-2 win at the Bernabeu.

United look to keep Diallo
A move to Manchester United for Tete looks unlikely in January, with the northwest club having recently wrapped up a deal to sign Atalanta’s Amad Diallo. The transfer was agreed back in October, with formalities set to be completed this month.
It had been reported that Atalanta wanted to keep Diallo on their books until the summer, as they progress into the latter stages of the Champions League. However, United have rejected such a proposal, with Diallo now set to join up with the senior squad at Old Trafford imminently.
“Confirmed. Amad Diallo is set to join Manchester United in January and not in June, despite Atalanta trying to keep him on loan until the end of the season. Diallo won’t be part Atalanta team for next match against Sassuolo. Solskjaer wants him right now,” reported Fabrizio Romano.

“Amad, we’ve had all the paperwork, I can’t see any obstacles,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explained this weekend. “Hope very soon he will be with us. Very excited to have him in. He’ll need time to develop.”
Manchester United are looking very strong this season, currently locked on points with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table. Diallo going on to prove a key figure for the Red Devils over the second half of the campaign is unlikely, however the push from the Red Devils to invest in youth in a bid to protect their interests in the future is an approach which appears to be paying off.
