Borussia Dortmund secure Marco Reus’ replacement

With the news having been confirmed that Borussia Dortmund will be without the services of star man Marco Reus for a number of months following his injury in the German Cup Final, the Bundesliga giants have reportedly sealed a deal for an ideal replacement.

Breakout star

The player in question is Freiburg midfield talent Maximilian Philipp, who’s stellar performances during the 2016-17 campaign lead his club to a shock place in next season’s Europa League.

The 23-year-old has represented Germany at both U20 and U21 levels, and will reportedly arrive at the Westfalenstadion for a fee in the region of 20 million Euro.

Reus return

It is as of yet unknown when Marco Reus will return to the fold for Borussia Dortmund, with the German international having suffered ‘a partial split of the posterior cruciate ligament in the right knee’ during his side’s 2-1 DFB Pokal final victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on May 27th.
