Blow for Tottenham: AS Roma’s new stance over Nicolò Zaniolo deal

Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of Nicolò Zaniolo.

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a new attacker before the end of the window.

Spurs have already made six new signings and look set to make it seven with the imminent arrival of Destiny Udogie.

Nicolò Zaniolo has been a player that they have been chasing, however, they have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of the Italian.

Roma make Zaniolo transfer decision

The Evening Standard claim that AS Roma have cooled their interest in selling Nicolò Zaniolo.

Given his contract situation and injury record, the Italian club were open to listening to offers.

However, the 23-year-old has played a starring role under Jose Mourinho during pre-season and looks to be a key part of his plans.

Antonio Conte has reportedly requested his signature and Spurs had been working on a deal.

But Mourinho looks to have blocked any potential move and the player is now expected to remain in the Italian capital.
