Bayern post €40m bid for Arturo Vidal. Juventus want €45m, but a deal is close [Di Marzio]

Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio has dropped another bombshell on Wednesday night: Chilean international midfielder Arturo Vidal could be about to leave Juventus to join Bayern Munich in a €40m deal.

Di Marzio is the godfather of transfer gossip, particularly Italian transfer gossip, and one has to assume the Sky Italia journalist has rock solid sources for his Vidal to Bayern story.

Breaking down the details, Bayern have officially lodged a €40m bid for Arturo Vidal, but Juventus are looking for €45m.

With only €5m difference, Di Marzio states “the deal could be completed soon”.

Stepping backwards, Bayern’s interest in Vidal has seemingly been provoked by Bastian Schweinsteiger’s move to Man United. There is now a hole in their roster, and Vidal, who knows the Bundesliga well from his time at Bayer Leverkusen, could be the man to plug that gap.

There are also questions about the Vidal deal.

While the midfielder helped lead his team to Copa America glory this summer, Vidal also shamed himself with his DUI incident. On top of that, Vidal also is known for having a hot head on the field, and one wonders if he is the type of player Pep Guardiola would be eager to work with.
