Barcelona & Man United
The next transfer window doesn’t open until January, but Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo believe they already have inside information on Barcelona’s future transfer plans.
The 2016 summer window was a shocker for the Catalans.
Neymar left the Camp Nou to join PSG, while Barcelona struggled to find replacements for the Brazilian.
Efforts to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool failed, although Ousmane Dembele did move to Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund.
Dembele has since suffered a bad injury – he ruptured a tendon playing against Getafe – which will keep him sidelined for months.
Target: Anthony Martial
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona want to sign Man United forward Anthony Martial.
The front page of the Spanish daily reports the following:
Barca have the Frenchman on their list of future objectives, given his quality and youth (19 years of age).
Anthony is liked by the coaches and not a guaranteed starter at United, something that could force him to leave Manchester.
While it’s true that Martial is still struggling to lock down a first team spot at Old Trafford, the French striker has started the season in good form.
Martial has so far chalked up five goals and five assists across all competitions this season.
The forward especially impressed in United’s 4-1 over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League. Martial provided three assists and was named Man of the Match.

Arsenal in the mix
At the same time as Martial is linked to Barcelona, Arsenal are chasing the Man United star too.
That’s according to the Mirror on Sunday, who believe Arsene Wenger is looking at the 21-year-old as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
The Mirror believe Arsenal could also exploit problems with Martial’s position at Old Trafford. It’s claimed the French star isn’t happy about playing on the left wing, as he wants to play through the middle.
