Thiago Messi signs for Barcelona
The Spanish press are getting excited that Leo Messi is not the only member of his family joined to Barcelona.
Both Cadena Ser and Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Thiago Messi, Leo’s eldest sign and currently just three years old, has signed for Barcelona.
This comes just days after Leo Messi revealed that his son Thiago is not that interested in football.
In an interview with Argentine personality Mingo, Messi revealed: “I don’t buy him many balls or force him to play with them because he doesn’t like them that much.”
“Let’s see if he gets hooked”
And, in the same interview, Messi revealed that his son had signed for Barcelona, sort of, in a new project to get players’ kids playing football, Messi added “Let’s see if he gets hooked that way, it would be a good start.”
Thiago Messi has joined a project at Barcelona called FCBEscola. It is pre-kids training intended for children of athletes and members of all professional departments of the club as well as employees of the La Liga side.
FCBEscola is aimed at children between 3 and 5 years old who could then go on to play in the La Masia youth teams.
Mundo Deportivo joke that with the baby boom of the last few seasons amongst the Barcelona first team, “soon there could be a real dream team.”
