Bad for Tottenham: Bayern Munich’s Anthony Martial move

Anthony Martial rejects Man United

Less than a week ago, RMC Sport broke the news: Anthony Martial has rejected a new offer from Man United to stay at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old, who is under contract until 2019, has 11 goals and 10 assists in 40 appearances this season.

Man United offered Martial a five year deal, however the French international has turned down the proposal.

Bayern Munich’s Anthony Martial move

On Monday, a fresh update from Calcio Mercato has announced that Bayern Munich have ‘concrete interest’ in Martial.

The Italian news outlet also report that Manchester United want at least 50 million euros for Martial.

So will Bayern complete the deal?

It’s worth noting that Bayern are close to closing new deals with veteran wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

The two players are coming to the end of the contracts in June, while Bayern have decided to keep them at the Allianz Arena for another twelve months.

Arturo Vidal injured before Real Madrid

On Sunday Bayern Munich were sweating after a potentially significant blow.

Star Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal suffered a knee injury at Bayern training.

The pictures from the training session looked bad.

In the images, Vidal was forced off the pitch on a stretcher after being lifted by two Bayern employees.

On Monday morning Bayern have updated their fans on Vidal’s injury.

The Bavarians have confirmed the South American suffered a knee injury on Sunday.

Jupp Heynckes has confirmed no other players were involved in Vidal’s incident: “He slipped and fell over”.

Heynckes has also played down ears that Vidal will be a long term injury absentee:

I’ve met Dr. Müller-Wohlfahrt telephoned. An MRI was performed.

Arturo has a free joint body in the knee. This prevents the stretching. He is already on his way to Augsburg  as he needs e a small arthroscopic procedure.

For sure, Arturo will only be short-term.

So will Vidal be available for the Real Madrid game? That’s still in the balance, but it’s looking increasingly likely that the Chilean will miss out.
