Bad for Besiktas: Arsenal & Marouane Fellaini

Arsenal & Marouane Fellaini

An incredibly short transfer update from Italian news outlet Calciomercato will trigger alarm bells for Arsenal and Man United fans on Wednesday.

According to the Italian publication, Arsenal are keen on signing Man United midfielder Marouane Fellaini.

How keen are the Gunners? That’s unclear, as readers are giving no idea about the type of proposal Arsenal will put together to land the Belgian star.

Instead, however, the Arsenal update is bad news for Turkish side Besiktas, who have been trying to sign Marouane Fellaini for some time.

Will Jose Mourinho sell?

Regardless of Arsenal and Besiktas’s supposed interest in Fellaini, will Man United let him go?

Fellaini’s current deal expires at the end of the season but no agreement has been reached yet to keep the 29-year-old at Old Trafford.

That said, Jose Mourinho has repeatedly showed how much he values Fellaini in his squad.

Put simply, Fellaini is Man United’s plan B when they are struggling to find the back of the net.

Of course, should Man United fail to lock Fellaini down to a new deal, he’ll be free to leave Man United for nothing at the end of the campaign.

Man United & Carlos Soler

Sticking with Man United and transfers, the Independent on Wednesday believe that Valencia’s Carlos Soler is on the Red Devils’ shopping list.

The broadsheet reports the following:

Jose Mourinho currently sees Valencia’s Carlos Soler as his main January transfer target, in what is likely to be a limited window for Manchester United.

Even though he is just 20, the Spanish under-21 international has shown many qualities United lack as well as a maturity, and would likely cost around £40m.
