AS Roma close in on Manchester City full-back

Kolarov

Manchester City left-back Alexsandar Kolarov is close to joining Italian side Roma.

The Serb, who joined the club in 2010, will cost Roma around 6 million Euros, according to Transfermarketweb.

Kolarov is set to be part of Guardiola’s summer clear out, which has decimated Manchester City’s numbers in defence.

Clear out

Right sided defenders Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna left the club after their contracts expired, as did make-shift wingback Jesus Navas.

The trio have, in part, been replaced by Tottenham’s Kyle Walker, while Real Madrid’s Danilo is likely to join as his deputy.

Kolarov’s fellow left-back Gael Clichy also left the Etihad, while goalkeepers Joe Hart and Willy Caballero have moved to West Ham and Chelsea respectively.

Kolarov and Clichy are expected to be replaced by Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy. The Ligue 1 champions rejected a bid from City for their defender on Thursday to the value of £44.5m, however, City are expected to come back with an improved offer.
