Arteta confirms Arsenal will speak to Lacazette about contract in summer/ Gunners ‘cool interest’ in Real Madrid’s Isco

The first surrounds Alexandre Lacazette.
The Frenchman is now in the final 18 months of his contract, which is set to expire in 2022.
Up until recently, it of course didn’t look as though the former Lyon man had much of a future at the Emirates.
Lacazette was struggling for form, especially away from home, and was heavily linked with a move to Spain during the summer.
However, recent weeks have seen the hitman enjoy something of a rejuvenation in north London, netting four in his last three league outings.
In turn, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continuing to struggle in front of goal, the Arsenal faithful are no doubt hopeful of keeping Lacazette around for the time being.
A contract extension, however, doesn’t look likely to be forthcoming any time soon.
When asked whether talks over a new deal for Lacazette were in progress, Mikel Arteta stated:
“No, we haven’t talked about anything related to his contract. We will talk in the summer and make a decision on what is going to happen.
“I’m delighted with the way he’s performing, the goals he’s scoring and the form and energy he’s got at the moment, so he needs to keep doing that.”

Arsenal cooling interest in Isco
Elsewhere on the Gunners front, an update on the club’s rumoured interest in Isco has also been forthcoming.
The Real Madrid man has been heavily linked with the north Londoners of late.
With the Spaniard struggling for regular minutes in Madrid, and Arsenal in need of added creativity, an Emirates switch for Isco would, on paper, appear to make sense for both parties.
However, a recent report from Goal, citing Spanish outlet AS, has suggested that Mikel Arteta and co. have cooled their interest in bringing in the midfielder this month.
