Mesut Ozil & Alexis Sanchez

Arsene Wenger contradicts himself on Mesut Ozil & Alexis Sanchez

Mesut Ozil & Alexis Sanchez

For months now everyone’s known the score with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Neither player has committed their futures to Arsenal past the end of the season, when their current deals expire.

There’s a real possibility that both players will leave the Emirates Stadium for free next summer.

If that happens, how can Arsenal fill that enormous hole in their side?

How much money would Arsenal need to spend to replace Ozil and Sanchez from their squad? 150 million pounds? More?

Arsene Wenger’s bizarre comments

In his Tuesday presser before the Huddersfield game, Arsene Wenger was once again pressed about Arsenal’s best two players.

With a little over a month to go until the January window, could Arsenal sell Ozil and/or Sanchez imminently?

Wenger answered the question with a dizzying set of replies.

Perhaps intentionally trying to bamboozled reports, the Gunners boss completely ruled out the sales in January “unless something unbelievable happens”.

WTF does that mean?

Well it definitely means there’s good sense in Ozil and/or Sanchez working out how quickly they can pack their bags.

Some Arsenal fans may wonder how much control Wenger even has over Ozil and Sanchez anymore.

Arsenal have signed Borussia Dortmund’s Sven Mislintat.

Mislintat was the chief scout at Borussia Dortmund and he looks set to replace Steve Rowley at the Gunners.

While the big news on Tuesday is that the Gunners are appointing Raul Sanllehi from Barcelona to be their director of football.

Arsenal v Huddersfield

Mesut Ozil is in with an outside chance to be involved against Huddersfield in the Premier League.

The German has been sidelined with illness.

Alex Iwobi looks likely to miss the Terriers game with a dead leg.
