Arsenal have rejected a £16 million bid for defender Calum Chambers.
According to the Telegraph, Crystal Palace’s second bid for Chambers was turned down, despite the suggestion that the player is no longer in Arsene Wenger’s plans.
Chambers was part of England’s U21 side which made it to the semi-final of this summer’s European Championships and is currently not on tour with the Gunners in Asia.
With the arrival of Saed Kolasinac, who can play centrally, Chambers will have fallen even further down the pecking order at the Emirates.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and Arsenal are keen to offload him on a permanent basis rather than on loan.
Given his potential, Wenger is holding out for £20 million.
According to the same article, Arsenal are also open to offers for fringe players such as Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Mathieu Debuchy, Carl Jenkinson and Lucas Perez.
