Bobby Duncan: Steven Gerrard's cousin

Arsenal & Spurs trying to sign Steven Gerrard’s cousin from Man City

Will Man City lose another English starlet?

Over the summer, both Tottenham and Arsenal were heavily linked with young English winger Jadon Sancho.

Now at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho felt he could not breakthrough into the Manchester City first team and was looking for a new club.

According to reports, Borussia Dortmund won the race for Sancho, ahead of clubs like Spurs and Arsenal, since they do not play in England.

Bobby Duncan: Steven Gerrard’s cousin

The Times on Saturday report that Manchester City risk losing another young English starlet: Bobby Duncan.

Whilst Sancho is well known in England, Duncan is a little younger but his cousin is Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

It has been an eventful week for Duncan, who scored the winner for England U17s in a 3-2 victory over Portugal on Wednesday.

The young striker is now being chased by Spurs, Arsenal and Southampton amid contract talks with Manchester City.

From Wigan to Manchester City

The Premier League leaders signed Duncan when he was playing for Wigan. Surprisingly, Liverpool did not ever show interest in the young striker.

His cousin Steven Gerrard is now the Under-18s coach at Liverpool.

Manchester City would be due compensation were Duncan to leave for another Premier League club, but are hoping he signs a contract with them by the time of his 17th birthday.

Again, it comes as some surprise that Liverpool are not linked with Duncan.

Both Spurs and Arsenal have a much better record in recent years of giving young players a chance. As do Southampton.
