Arsene Wenger celebrates v Manchester City

Odds slashed on Arsenal signing Man United’s key transfer target

Could Arsenal beat Man United to Griezmann?

Antoine Griezmann produced one of the most noble acts of the summer transfer window.

The French striker decided to stay with Atletico Madrid once their transfer ban come into force.

Atletico can sign players from this January.

And, according to reports, whilst Griezmann’s release clause was 200 million euros last summer, it will drop to 100 million euros at the end of this season.

It seems inevitable that Griezmann will be one of the, if not the most coveted, striker in next summer’s transfer window.

Arsenal seem set to make a move. Manchester United’s interest is well known. And, Barcelona will surely also make an approach as well.

Odds slashed on Arsenal landing Griezmann

Ladbrokes have slashed odds on Arsenal signing Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.

The Gunners could lose Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez between now and the start of next season and the bookies now make Griezmann one of the most likely men to replace that duo.

Having been 10/1 shots to land the Frenchman at the weekend, Arsenal’s odds have been slashed to just 4/1 after Alexandre Lacazette announced his intention to try and persuade his compatriot and good friend to move to the Emirates.

Manchester United still favourites to sign Antoine Griezmann

Manchester United are still 2/1 favourites for Griezmann’s signature while Chelsea and Real Madrid are currently 5/1 and 7/1 respectively – but it’s the North London outfit who are by far the most notable movers of late.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Wenger may have to accept he’ll lose two of his key men in the next few months, but the latest odds suggest Griezmann may just soften that blow by agreeing to trade Atleti for Arsenal.”
