Arsenal sign Barcelona’s Joel Lopez

It’s been rumoured for several days, and according to reports on social media it’s now a ‘done deal’.

Arsenal have reportedly signed Joel Lopez from Barcelona.

Joel Lopez is a 16-year-old left-back who has been raised in La Masia. Indeed, the young defender has been with the Catalans signed he was seven years old.

Lopez’s Camp Nou exit has been rumoured for a few weeks after he rejected a contract offer from Barca.

According to reports from Sport journalist Albert Roge, Joel Lopez has now completed a move to the Gunners.

It’s also been claimed that Raul Sanllehi, Arsenal’s head of recruitment, was a key factor in Arsenal’s latest capture.

Sanllehi, who joined the Gunners from Barcelona, knows Joel Lopez from his time at the Camp Nou.

Adria Bernabe to Man City

Joel Lopez isn’t the only youngster leaving Barcelona this summer.

Albert Roge has confirmed that a group of four teenagers will be leaving the Catalans.

That includes Adria Bernabe, who is on his way to join Pep Guardiola’s Man City.

Bernabe is a 17-year-old attacking midfielder, who joined Barca from Espanyol.

Bernabe has addressed his move to Man City on Instagram. He wrote the following message:

Today is a hard day since I have to say goodbye to the place I have called home for the last five years. I only have words of thanks for people who have helped me during this time…
