Arsenal’s summer sales
Goal.com’s Chris Wheatley, who is well-known for his insight into Arsenal, has posted an update on the club’s summer transfer activities.
Arsenal have already let some players leave this summer.
Jack Wilshere is now with West Ham, while Per Mertesacker is off the books.
Yet, according to reports, Arsenal have another seven players ready to leave the Emirates Stadium.
Those players are Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi, Danny Welbeck, Petr Cech, David Ospina, Carl Jenkinson and Lucas Perez.
It’s worth noting that Real Sociedad are interested in Monreal. Everton have been linked with a move Welbeck.
While it’s been claimed that Cech could return to Chelsea if Thibaut Courtois leaves the Blues.
Unai Emery targets two more signings
Chris Wheatley makes it clear that Arsenal have to sell before they can buy:
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is keen to bring in two more players before the end of the transfer window, but the north London side will have to sell players first in order to raise funds.
Nevertheless, it’s claimed that Arsenal’s top priority signing is to land a “fast, direct winger”.
Additionally, if Monreal does leave the Gunners, Emery plans to replace the Spaniard with a new left-back.
Arsenal & 2018-19 Premier League
Last season was rough for Arsenal.
They finished sixth in the Premier League to qualify for the Europa League once again.
However the year ended on a high as Arsene Wenger walked away from the Gunners after 22 years.
A major transition is now underway at the Emirates Stadium, starting with Unai Emery’s appointment.
Arsenal are also busy in the transfer market. Five players have already joined the Gunners: Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.
