Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson receives contract offer

Reiss Nelson vs Southampton

Arsenal won a 5-goal thriller last Sunday at the Emirates against Southampton.

Danny Welbeck stole the headlines with a double for Arsenal. But Reiss Nelson also drew plenty of attention as the 18-year-old midfielder started his first Premier League game for the Gunners.

He lasted over an hour against the Saints, before making way for Jack Wilshere.

According to the Telegraph on Tuesday, Reiss Nelson is now set to be rewarded with a new deal.

Eventful game to make my first @premierleague start in 😅 Thank you to all the fans for the support #COYG #GLITCH18 🦋

Arsenal offer Nelson a new contract

Sadly the Telegraph offer little insight into the terms of the new contract offer. Readers are told:

Reiss Nelson is close to signing an extended contract at Arsenal after making his Premier League debut in Sunday’s 3-2 win against Southampton.

“It is a big achievement to sign for a big club like Arsenal so I’m just delighted with the contract and hopeful that I can sign it soon,” said Nelson.

The teenager, who has come through the youth ranks at Arsenal, has made 15 appearances for the first team this season.

Most of those appearances have been in the Europa League.

Will Nelson feature in Russia this week against CSKA Moscow? With Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s knee ligament injury, there’s a good chance he’ll once again be involved.

CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal

4-1 up from the first leg, will Arsenal beat CSKA to reach the UEL semifinals?

Winning the Europa League is Arsenal’s last remaining viable route to playing in next season’s Champions League.

CSKA warmed up for the Gunners game losing 2-1 at home to Dinamo Moscow on Monday night.
