As per the Sun, Arsenal are struggling to sort out a new contract with William Saliba and PSG are monitoring developments.

The French international only has a year remaining on his current £40,000-a-week deal. And whilst the Gunners are ready to offer Saliba, 22, £120k-a-week to be their defensive rock for seasons to come, they have been shocked by the demands being made by the centre-back’s representatives and are currently nowhere near reaching an agreement.

Arsenal have no intention of letting Saliba leave this summer, however, the North Londoners are not prepared to let him run down his contract and leave as a free agent next year.

This suggests that unless an agreement can be reached this summer, Arsenal will be looking to sell Saliba very soon.

Given his importance to Arsenal, though, that may be a big mistake.

Saliba missed Arsenal’s final 11 games of the league season. In that time, the Gunners failed to win six matches.
