Thomas Lemar & Monaco
For over half a year now, reports have swirled linking Thomas Lemar with a move to the Premier League.
When it comes to possible Premier League suitors, two clubs are constantly named as frontrunners: Arsenal and Liverpool.
According to Wednesday’s update in L’Equipe, Lemar has rejected a new contract offer from Monaco.
On Tuesday, L’Equipe revealed that Lemar earns £22,000-a-week at Monaco.

Now it’s being reported that Monaco have offered the French international a contract extension on his deal which current expires in 2020. The proposal included a pay rise, but Lemar has reportedly turned that offer down.
Arsenal or Liverpool?
Is Lemar hoping to complete a move to either Arsenal or Liverpool?
Last month, journalist Duncan Castles reported that Monaco’s Lemar already has an ‘agreement’ with Liverpool, although the clubs are yet to reach an accord.
Back in the 2017 summer window, Arsenal lodged a 90 million pound offer for Lemar with Monaco, but that offer was rejected.
But, is Lemar playing a dangerous game? It’s worth noting that the winger’s performances have been below-par this season for Monaco.
In 16 Ligue 1 games, for example, Lemar has only scored two goals and chipped in with five assists.
Looking at his complete stats for the season, Lemar has three goals and five assists in 21 games for his club and country this season.
Is this downturn in production due to the player’s desire to move clubs? Or perhaps Lemar isn’t as good as many people thought he was?
