Another day, another forward has been linked to Arsenal.
With five days to go until the summer transfer window slams shut, no one can be surprised that the English red-tops are continuing to churn out barely believably transfer rumours on a daily basis.
Arsenal have been continuously linked with strikers throughout the summer, as few believe the Gunners have the wherewithal to compete for the Premier League title with Olivier Giroud leading their line.
Karim Benzema and Edinson Cavani have been just two strikers linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in the papers, but according to the unrelieable Star on Wednesday, Russian striker/attacking midfielder Aleksandr Kokorin is on the brink of signing from Dynamo Moscow.
Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Russian striker Aleksandr Kokorin, according to Russian news outlet Gazeta.
The reports say the Gunners have beaten off competition from several other top European sides to Kokorin’s signature.
Paris St-Germain, Manchester United, Tottenham and Zenit St Petersburg have all been keen on the Dynamo Moscow star this summer.
24-year-old Kokorin has scored eight goals in 32 games for his country. He’s also bagged 47 goals in 194 appearances for Dynamo, also registering 25 assists.
For the record, last week the player’s agent revealed last week he intended to speak with Manchester United and Tottenham about the striker’s availability. Christophe Yutto stated:
At the moment I’m working on a transfer for Kokorin. His services have interested Manchester United and Tottenham. There is every reason to believe that the player will be at one of those clubs by August 31.

@Memz_Dogi Are we honestly "on the brink" of signing Alexander Kokorin, as the Daily Star has said? Dear God…

In my opinion Olivier Giroud is better than Alexander Kokorin.

Aleksandr Kokorin, 24, from Valuyki, 39 goals in 7 years for Dynamo Moscow, 8 for Russian national team. Doesn't sound sensational.
