For some months now, the Gunners have been linked with a move for PSV’s Xavi Simons.
The youngster joined the Eredivisie side from PSG on a free transfer last summer.
Simons, who can operate as a no.10 and on both flanks, scored 22 and assisted 12 in 48 games this past season.
The forward would be an excellent rotation option for Arsenal, providing cover for Bukayo Saka down the right.
Previous reports claimed that PSG inserted a clause in the player’s contract allowing them to buy him back for around £10m, but the French powerhouse have so far not made an approach, with it also added that Simons himself was not keen on returning to PSG.
Now though, Caught Offside’s Jonathan Johnson claims that: “My understanding, contrary to some reports, is that Xavi Simons has not yet entirely ruled out a move back to PSG. He’s waiting for PSG to outline what would be waiting for him if he were to come back.”
