Arsenal bound? Out of favour Real Madrid star comes to decision ahead of January window

Luka Jovic Eintracht Frankfurt

Word stemming from the Spanish media this weekend suggests that Arsenal-linked striker Luka Jovic has come to a decision on his Real Madrid future.

Blancos struggles

Serbian hitman Jovic has of course endured an opening to the season to forget with Real Madrid.

After returning from a hit-and-miss loan spell back in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt during the summer, the 23-year-old was reintegrated into the first-team setup in the Spanish capital.

The weeks and months since, however, have seen Jovic majorly struggle for game-time.

Sitting firmly behind the starring Karim Benzema in Los Blancos’ centre-forward pecking order, the one-time Benfica man has been afforded a paltry 60 minutes of La Liga action to this point in 2021/22.

Emirates bound?

In turn, it should not come as a huge surprise to hear of speculation surrounding Jovic’s future in Madrid beginning to mount once more, ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.

A whole host of clubs have been named as keen on the services of the once so highly-regarded attacker, chief amongst them Premier League giants Arsenal.

Some reports have even gone as far as to assure that the Gunners have a loan proposal ready to be submitted in the new year:

And, if the latest ensuing word stemming from Spain is anything to go by, then such an assault on the part of Mikel Arteta and co. could well bear fruit.

As per Diario AS, despite remaining keen to succeed at the Bernabeu in the long-term, Jovic has opened to the idea of moving on this winter, in a bid to secure more regular playing time over the 2nd half of the campaign.

Real, for their part, are not expected to block any such move, with a loan exit, potentially to the Emirates, therefore not out of the question.
