Alvaro Morata, Chelsea & AC Milan
Gianluca Di Marzio, the well-known Italian transfer guru, has posted an update on Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, and his possible summer exit from Los Blancos.
Having seen links to Man United evaporate following Romelu Lukaku’s move to Old Trafford from Everton, the two clubs most likely to land Morata are now Chelsea and AC Milan.
When looking at which of those clubs is higher in the pecking order, Di Marzio has reported that “Chelsea, at the moment, are closest to signing the player from Real Madrid”.
But what does that mean?
Unfortunately Di Marzio doesn’t go into his reasons for believing the Morata-Chelsea deal could happen, nor does he detail how much the reigning Premier League champions would have to pay to get the deal done.
That said, Conte signed Morata for Juventus several seasons ago, and it’s not hard to imagine the Italian boss lands the Spanish international again this summer.
What about Milan?
Morata’s move to Stamford Bridge could also be as a result of AC Milan.
While the Rossoneri have already signed a slew of stars this summer, it’s believed they want to add another top striker to their roster.
Morata is one option, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is another, Torino’s Andrea Belotti is listed as Milan’s “number one target” by Di Marzio, although he believes the most likely addition at the San Siro could be Fiorentina forward Nikola Kalinic.
