On Thursday morning in the Times, the future of Anthony Martial at Man United is thrown into doubt.

22-year-old Martial s under contract at Old Trafford until 2019.

The French forward has also been a key member of Jose Mourinho’s squad this season.

Martial’s scored 11 goals in all competitions, as well as chipping in 10 assists.

But could Martial now be looking to move out of Manchester. That notion is floated in the Times, and Alexis Sanchez is having an influence on the potential deal. As reported in the broadsheet:

Martial, the forward, has fallen down the pecking order at United since the signing of Alexis Sánchez from Arsenal in January.

Martial has started just one of United’s past four matches and the 22-year-old has not had a sustained run in the team since the end of November.

According to the Times, Juventus are definitely interested in the United star and the Bianconeri “have made their interest in the versatile forward known”.

Yet Man United have no intention of allowing Martial to leave without a fight.

United plan to battle Juventus in the transfer market by offering Martial a new deal. The Times claim:

Initial discussions between United officials and Philippe Lamboley, Martial’s agent, began in December. No such talks have taken place since, which has led to suggestions that United are stalling on offering Martial a new deal, but it is understood that the club are keen to reopen negotiations.

Martial’s next Man United goal costs €10 million

Martial is currently on 24 Premier League goals for Man United.

As per the transfer agreement with Monaco, Martial’s 25th goal for United triggers a €10 million from United to the Ligue 1 club.
