According to a report from L’Equipe this afternoon, Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette has given the green light to his transfer to Premier League giants Arsenal.
A number of reports broke late last night that the prolific French international was close to a move to North London, with current club Lyon having deemed Arsenal’s most recent bid as just a few million Euro short of their valuation.
It remained to be seen whether the player himself would agree to a move, though, with the possibility existing that his collapsed transfer to Atletico Madrid could be resurrected in January, upon the finish of Diego Simeone’s side’s transfer ban.
However, according to the aforementioned report from L’Equipe, Lacazette has given his blessing to a move to the Emirates, where he will hope to team up with star Gunners duo Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez next season.
The 26-year-old French international was in typically prolific during the 2016/17 campaign, notching 37 goals in all competitions and securing the title of the most clinical striker in Europe’s top 5 leagues (20+ goals) in terms of chance conversion.
