AC Milan’s incredible spending spree to continue
AC Milan’s incredible summer of spending is set to continue by signing one of the most highly rated young players in Europe.
The last season has been one of struggle for Renato Sanches after a brilliant campaign in 2015/2016.
Renato Sanches was excellent for Benfica and earned a big money move to Bayern Munich before starring for Portugal at Euro 2016.
Renato Sanches for €40m
The dreadlocked midfielder failed to earn a starting spot in Carlo Ancelotti’s side in 2016/2017 and was reportedly made available for sale by Bayern Munich.
On Wednesday, L’Equipe reveal that Renato Sanches’ move to the Rossoneri is very close.
Sanches has a contract at Bayern Munich until 2021 and is expected to be sold for 40 million euros.
Still just 19, Sanches is expected to sign on at AC Milan for four seasons.
Sanches: “I’m young. I want and have to play a lot”
Speaking on his future during an interview with German outlet Bild on Tuesday, Sanches had the following to say regarding a potential switch to the San Siro:
“Personally, I’m not satisfied with my first year in Munich. AC Milan is an interesting option. If the opportunity arises and the clubs can agree, I would like to see them. I’m young. I want and have to play a lot. I think the chance to do so is greater in Milan than in Munich.”
Manchester United had also been linked to Sanches, who’s agent is Jorge Mendes, who also represents Jose Mourinho.
AC Milan have signed a whopping amount of players this summer including Leonardo Bonucci, Andre Silva, Hakan Calhanoglu, Ricardo Rodriguez, Franck Kessie, Mateo Musacchio and Fabio Borini.
All the signings have meant there is huge expectation around the Rossoneri right now, and they are tipped to challenge Juventus for the Scudetto next season.
