Man United & Cristiano Ronaldo
The tabloids in England have continued to spin rumours on Monday morning linking Man United with a sensational summer swoop for Cristiano Ronaldo.
On Sunday, arguably the most outlandish transfer scoop was found in Italian daily Tuttosport, as they reported that Jose Mourinho was prepared to offer Real Madrid €210 million plus Spanish international keeper David De Gea for Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata.
On Monday, the Mirror follow in Tuttosport’s footsteps claiming that Man United are ready to offer Los Blancos £175 million plus David De Gea for Ronaldo.
What’s the story?
The Mirror tell their readers the following:
The Red Devils are set to go all out for the Portuguese – and will finally hand De Gea the Spanish homecoming he desires.
The Reds are ready to make keeper De Gea part of a world-record package to bring the Portuguese superstar back to Old Trafford from Real Madrid.
Is that smart business from United? While capturing Ronaldo would be enormous, the terms of the deal as stated in the Mirror arguably sees Jose Mourinho overpay for 32-year-old Ronaldo.
And who would be Man United’s keeper next season? Sergio Romero would be in line to be Mourinho’s number one choice.
Report in the Sun
The back page of the Sun on Monday also reports on Ronaldo moving to Man United.
The red-top makes it sound like Cristiano is desperate to return to Old Trafford with their headline: Get me back to United – Ronaldo in plea to agent.
Inside the article, the Sun tell their readers:
The Portuguese superstar wants Jorge Mendes to “do everything possible” to make the move happen.
PSG are prepared to offer £122m to land him plus a staggering salary of £26m per year to persuade him to switch to the French capital.
But Ronaldo is keen to return to United and has instructed his representative, fellow Portuguese and super-agent Mendes, to do everything in his power to make it reality.
