Tottenham’s Dele Alli speaks out after England World Cup exit

England World Cup

Emotional exit

Tottenham star Dele Alli has penned an emotional message to England fans following their exit from the World Cup in their semi-final clash with Croatia.

The England stars made it to that stage of the competition for the first time in 28 years and really had the chance of winning the tournament.

The new youthful generation really got fans up off their feet but in the end, they lacked the bit of experience.

Croatia won through goals from Ivan Perisic and a strike from Mario Mandzukic in extra time.

The Three Lions did not have enough to reply and eventually were knocked out much to the disappointment of many.

Though, the general consensus among England fans is that the team have done them all proud.

Now, several stars including Gareth Southgate have been sending messages to the fans on social media.

Dele Alli is the latest to take to social media and penned a message for fans on Instagram.

“It’s the disappointment to have not given England fans the chance to watch us compete in the final of the World Cup.

“To have represented my country in this tournament has been an honour and a memory I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

“I want to thanks everyone for the support we’ve received, the encouragement and belief throughout the tournament has been incredible.

“This is going to take a while to get over, but I truly believe this team has a bright future and we will make England proud again!”
