Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen & Atletico Madrid
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla has revealed that Atletico Madrid are considering a move to sign Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen.
It’s claimed that Atletico manager Diego Simeone “really likes” Eriksen.
As a result, Atletico have conducted a “survey” on the possibility of signing Eriksen from Spurs this summer.
Pedulla tells his readers:
The Colchoneros are trying (to sign Eriksen), but it’s not certain that the Dane will make the move.

Real Madrid & Nicolo Zaniolo
Alfredo Pedulla offers two reasons why Atletico may fall short in their attempts to sign Eriksen.
Firstly, Real Madrid are also in the mix.
Yet, on Los Blancos, Pedulla notes that the club have prioritised trying to sign Paul Pogba from Man United.
Secondly, it’s claimed that Eriksen could be used as a makeweight in a deal with Roma for Nicolo Zaniolo.
Another issue to consider is whether Atletico have the funds to complete the transfer.
Atletico have already signed 19-year-old attacker João Felix from Benfica for €126m. How much more money is available for transfers?
What Alfredo Pedulla left blank
It’s worth noting that Alfredo Pedulla’s update on Eriksen had a few glaring gaps.
How much would Atletico Madrid be prepared to offer Tottenham for their midfielder? That issue wasn’t dealt with.
What terms could Atelti offer Eriksen? No details were presented.
Would Eriksen be keen on joining the Rojiblancos? Again, that issue was ignored.
Christian Eriksen in limbo
Last weekend, reporter Ed Aarons detailed a distinct lack of offers for Eriksen in the Observer:
Only a handful of sides have the resources and stature to attract the midfielder and he could end up staying at Tottenham.
Earlier in the summer, Eriksen admitted that he’s interested in exploring a fresh challenge in his career.
Eriksen’s current contract with Spurs expires in twelve months’ time.
