Real Madrid & Dani Ceballos
22-year-old Dani Ceballos had an average season for Real Madrid in 2018-19.
In fairness, Real Madrid had an average season in general, as they failed to win a trophy while finishing third in La Liga.
Ceballos scored three goals in 23 appearances for Madrid in the league. Ceballos also played three times in the Champions League and six times in the Copa del Rey without scoring.
On Wednesday in Spanish daily AS, it’s announced that Ceballos intends to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer:
Ceballos has decided to leave after the return of Zidane. The Frenchman does not count on him and the footballer believes that he can not afford a third year with little action.
Dani has not had the leading role in Madrid when he signed in the summer of 2017 from Betis. Zidane has never trusted him.
Tottenham want to sign Dani Ceballos
AS also claim that Tottenham are keen on signing Ceballos. The paper report:
Pochettino wants Dani Ceballos at Tottenham next season.
Pochettino has been following him for a long time and (Ceballos) would become a key part of his new project.
Have Spurs made a bid for Ceballos? No, rather AS indicate that Tottenham are yet to make an official bid.
However, AS appear to ratchet up the pressure on Tottenham to reveal their hand, as it’s claimed Ceballos already has several offers on the table.
Perhaps conveniently, AS fail to mention any other specific suitor for Ceballos.

The Christian Erikson factor
Key to the whole ‘Ceballos to Tottenham’ story is the future of Christian Eriksen.
Eriksen, 27, is out of contract in north London at the end of next season and he’s yet to agree a new deal.
For AS, if Eriksen decides to leave Spurs, Ceballos could be signed as the Dane’s replacement.

Ceballos cut-off date
The final note from AS is that Ceballos is hoping to finalise his next career move before June 15th.
That’s the start date of the 2019 U21 European Championships in Italy and San Marino.
Ceballos has been selected to play for Spain, and when the tournament gets going the midfielder wants to be solely focused on his football.
Day 2 of Dani Ceballos & Tottenham
Links between Tottenham and Ceballos originally surfaced on Tuesday in Spanish news outlet El Desmarque.
In that report, it was claimed that several “big” European clubs are tracking Ceballos, including Arsenal and Juventus. However, Tottenham were named as “the main player” in the transfer race.
El Desmarque also revealed that Spurs could spend 40 to 50 million euros on the Real Madrid midfielder.
