Tottenham vs Southampton betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Tottenham vs Southampton 101 Great Goals prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Southampton

Defeat to Arsenal in Sunday’s North London derby dealt Mauricio Pochettino’s side a huge setback as their run of six wins came to an end.

Three tricky fixtures in the space of eight days proved a step too far as Tottenham were blown away by the Gunners.

Returning to Wembley, Spurs now face a Southampton side making their first outing since the dismissal of Mark Hughes.

The Welsh manager was sacked after the Saints went 12 games without a win in all competitions.

Premier League preview: Tottenham vs Southampton

Pochettino is now tasked with quickly picking his players up for another round of Premier League action.

Wins over Chelsea and Inter Milan appeared to show signs Tottenham were hitting top form, however, fatigue seemingly caught up with them.

From the outset, Spurs were second best in a match which may have dealt Pochettino’s men a psychological blow.

A big task now awaits at Wembley with Southampton hoping to enjoy a lift following the departure of Hughes.

Kelvin Davis is the man who will lead the Saints out on Wednesday with Ralph Hasenhüttl expected to take charge after the game.

Despite a spirited performance against Manchester United, they allowed a two-goal lead to slip and dropped two points.

Davis will be hoping for a similar performance to that of the first half-hour at St Mary’s on the weekend.

With confidence dented, the Saints will have the chance to get at Spurs at the home of English football.
