Tottenham vs Inter Milan betting tips: UEFA Champions League match preview & predictions

Tottenham vs Inter Milan 101 Great Goals prediction: Tottenham 3-1 Inter Milan

A 3-1 win over Chelsea helped Tottenham Hotspur to commence a tough week of action in style with Arsenal up next in the league.

The North London club blew away the Blues in a dominant display at Wembley to provide a huge boost of confidence.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan returned to winning way having suffered a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Atlanta prior to the international break.

The Nerazzurri claimed three points against Frosinone, with plenty of rotation, to remain third in Serie A.

Tottenham vs Inter Milan match preview

It’s all or nothing for Spurs on Wednesday, with a win required to remain in the competition.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side must also better Inter’s result from the two sides’ last meeting in the competition to stand a chance of advancing.

Wednesday’s fixture is the second of three huge games in the space of just eight days for the North London club.

Pochettino will need to continue to juggle his squad having taken on Chelsea on Saturday and a North London derby approaching on Sunday.

Can Inter stifle Tottenham’s attack?

Luciano Spalletti’s side are on the cusp of reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Mauro Icardi’s late equaliser against Barcelona at the San Siro places them in a strong position heading to Wembley.

Italian sides are renowned for their defensive ability and Spalletti will be sure to set up his side to frustrate Spurs.

However, Pochettino’s side will be boosted by Inter’s display against Atlanta prior to the international break.

Surprisingly, the Nerazzurri were hammered 4-1 by the Lombardy club.

Tottenham team news vs Inter Milan

With Davinson Sanchez sidelined and Juan Foyth unavailable, Jan Vertonghen is set to return to action.

The Belgian has been injured since late-September with a hamstring issue.

Kieran Trippier is expected to return at the end of the month whilst Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele both continue to recover from injuries.

Rose trained on Tuesday but Ben Davies is likely to keep his place.

In his pre-match press conference, Mauricio Pochettino bemoaned the fact Juan Foyth is unavailable due to the home-grown rules in the Champions League.

Certainly, Spurs are unlucky that Eric Dier is not considered to be “home grown” having spent his formative years in Portugal, with Sporting Lisbon.
