Premier League preview: Tottenham vs Crystal Palace

Mauricio Pochettino and his side are facing a fair bit of scrutiny following their wobbly start to the new season.

Despite picking up points away at Arsenal and Manchester City, performances have been below par.

In their defeat at home to Newcastle, Spurs showed signs of a lack of creativity and a fragility in defence.

With the transfer window now closed, Tottenham supporters will be hoping that Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen will be reintegrated back into the line-up.

Pochettino has also been rather unfortunate with injuries with all three of his new additions already struggling with injury.

Tanguy Ndombele looks set to return on the weekend, but Ryan Sessegnon remains sidelined and Giovani Lo Celso is out for several weeks.

Crystal Palace’s impressive form away vs top six

Spurs will need to be cautious of Hodgson’s knack for setting up his Palace side to get results away the league’s big six.

Palace will now be aiming to take another scalp of the big six in Spurs following a great start to the season.

The Eagles are already sat in fourth, with a draw against Everton, wins against Manchester United and Aston Villa, and a defeat to Sheffield United.

Jordon Ayew is a man Tottenham will need to look out for on Saturday, with the forward having netted twice in Palace’s last two games.
