Tottenham vs Chelsea betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Tottenham vs Chelsea 101 Great Goals: Tottenham 2-1 Chelsea

Since Jose Mourinho’s arrival, Tottenham Hotspur have incredibly closed a 12 point gap to just three.

Spurs have looked galvanised under their new Portuguese coach and proved that once again in their win away at Wolves.

Meanwhile, across London, Chelsea have suffered changed fortunes with their young squad starting to look fatigued.

The Blues have taken the second-lowest number of Premier League points since November 14.

Four defeats in their last five means that the race for the top four has now been blown wide open ahead of Sunday’s clash.

Premier League preview: Tottenham vs Chelsea

Tottenham produced their biggest statement of the Jose Mourinho era so far as they won away at Wolves.

Jan Vertonghen’s 91st-minute winner claimed Spurs a crucial three points to move them within touching distance of the top four.

In just three weeks as Spurs manager, Mourinho has already won double the number of away fixtures (2) in the league that Pochettino managed throughout 2019.

But on Sunday, Spurs are back at home and take on their first top-six opposition in the league at their new stadium.

Mourinho has made a perfect start at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium winning four out of four there.

Chelsea’s recent slump

Frank Lampard’s honeymoon period at Chelsea now appears to be over and the pressure is now on the Blues’ boss to turn their fortunes around.

Only Watford have taken fewer points in the league than the west London club since November 14.

Chelsea have lost four of their last five in the league and have allowed their London rivals and Sunday’s opponents, Spurs, the chance to move above them on Sunday.

With the buzz from Lampard’s appointment now appearing to fade, he must prove he has the tactical know-how to change Chelsea’s form.

There are concerns that Chelsea’s youthful side are starting to look jaded but Lampard must find an answer as he takes on his former manager, Mourinho, this weekend.
