Tottenham vs Aston Villa 101 Great Goals prediction: Tottenham 2-0 Aston Villa

For a sixth consecutive season, Mauricio Pochettino will line Tottenham up, but this time he will be gunning for silverware.

Following a late flurry of new additions on transfer deadline day to accompany Tanguy Ndombele, Spurs look set for the new season.

The north London club are also preparing for their first full season in their brand new 62,000-seater stadium.

The Argentine will hope that along with his new signings, playing 19 home games at the stadium will help his side to reduce the gap on both Manchester City and Liverpool.

Arriving at the new stadium on Saturday is newly-promoted Aston Villa.

Dean Smith’s side were incredibly active over the summer bringing in 12 new players for over £100 million.

Smith will now face the challenge of ensuring the new arrivals don’t upset the balance at Villa Park and on Saturday it will be intriguing to see how they get on.

Premier League preview: Tottenham vs Aston Villa

Tottenham will this year be aiming to bridge the gap between themselves and Manchester City and Liverpool.

Both clubs finished a staggering 27 points ahead of Spurs last season so reducing that difference will remain a tricky task.

However, with their new stadium now hosting Premier League matches and Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon added to their squad, Spurs will be hoping these factors can help make the difference.

Tottenham enjoyed a successful pre-season defeating the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

On Saturday, Tottenham could be without Heung-min Son, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.

Son is suspended, Alli has picked up a hamstring injury and Eriksen has been in talks with a move away from north London.

One man who they will now turn to is Lucas Moura.

The Brazilian stepped up towards the end of last season firing Tottenham into the Champions League final and he continued to impress during pre-season.

Harry Kane will be another key man on Saturday.

Spurs will be hoping that Kane’s form this season will be rejuvenated.

For just the second time in the last five years, he was not involved in an international tournament.

The 26-year-old will, therefore, have his eyes fixated on winning back his Golden Boot which he lost over the last two seasons.

Having had a full summer to prepare for the new campaign, Kane will surely be raring to

Villa hoping £130 million spending pays dividends

Aston Villa completed 12 new signings over the summer, spending just over £130 million.

Villa will be delighted with their additions, along with keeping the likes of John McGinn and Jack Grealish.

Wesley and Anwar El Ghazi were among the standout of the new additions.

Villa will be hoping that their new Brazilian forward will be the man to fill the void left by Tammy Abrahams.

Signed from Club Brugge for £22 million, he netted 17 times and managed 10 assists for the Belgian club in all competitions last season.

Meanwhile, making El Ghazi’s move to Villa Park permanent will delighted the supporters.

The 24-year-old fired them back into the top flight last season.

Now, Dean Smith must strike the right balance with his squad in terms of bedding in his new players.

Tottenham, Everton and Fulham have all been notable casualties from adding a large number of players in a single window.

But given the strong base already in place at Villa, they may have the recipe for success.
