Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon & Ajax’s Donny van de Beek
In the Times on Thursday, the paper’s chief sports writer Matt Dickinson has flagged up two transfer targets for Tottenham.
The first is Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, while the second is Ajax’s Donny van de Beek.
Dickinson dropped the following line into a wider report on Tottenham before the Champions League final vs Liverpool, and whether Mauricio Pochettino will remain at Spurs:
Keeping hold of him has to be the priority and, if Daniel Levy was listening this week, he would have heard Pochettino joke that the lemons go off particularly quickly when the chairman is around, presumably bringing bad news about transfer funds.
That has to change this summer, with Ryan Sessegnon at Fulham and Donny van de Beek from Ajax among the targets that Pochettino believes can take Spurs to the next level, even challenging for the Premier League title.
So will Tottenham sign these players?
Ryan Sessegnon leaving Fulham for Spurs seems like a very possible transfer this summer.
Rumours linking Sessegnon with Spurs have been doing the rounds for months, if not years.
In the past few weeks, reports suggested that the Sessegnon deal is close to completion.
The Times told their readers that:
Tottenham Hotspur are increasingly confident of signing Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham having tracked the 18-year-old winger for the past two years.
Moreover, Richard Crawley, a reporter for the South London Press, claimed that the Sessegnon transfer is “pretty close to done.”
Mentioned to me today by a good source that Ryan Sessegnon to Tottenham is pretty close to done.

Tottenham signing Donny van de Beek, however, seems less certain right now.
After Spurs KO’ed Ajax in the Champions League semi-final, those ‘Van de Beek to Spurs’ stories started to spread.

The Daily Mail previously suggested that Spurs could sign the 22-year-old Dutch international for 45 million pounds.
To the best of our knowledge, however, Tottenham are yet to make an official move for the Ajax star.
Van de Beek is under contract at Ajax until 2022.
