Tottenham Hotspur are targeting a move for Bayer Leverkusen central-defender Jonathan Tah, according to the Daily Mirror.
The club have identified the German as a potential replacement for Toby Alderwerield after struggling to reach an agreement with the Belgian over a new contract.
With such a standstill over a new deal, Spurs are looking into the possibility of selling the player in the summer and reinvesting the funds elsewhere.
Tottenham are understood to have sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old in action for Leverkusen.
Tah is dubbed as one of the best young defenders in Europe and has been playing in Germany’s top-flight since the age of 19, as well as making his debut for the national team.
The player has had an impressive season in the Bundesliga so far, helping his side up into fifth, just a point off of the Champions League places, and keeping an impressive seven clean-sheets.
