Tottenham slated over Emerson social media post following Palace defeat

Tottenham slated over Emerson social media post following Palace defeat

Supporters of Tottenham and rival clubs alike have flooded to social media on Sunday, to take aim at the North Londoners.

Edouard at the double

Nuno and co. were of course back in action a little over 24 hours ago.

After heading into the international break sitting pretty atop the Premier League table as the only side to have secured a perfect 9 points from 9, the Lilywhites were no doubt desperate to keep their positive start to life in 2021/22 alive, with a trip to capital rivals Crystal Palace.

When all was said and done at Selhurst Park, however, to say that Spurs were brought back down to earth would be putting it lightly.

Amid something of a personnel crisis, the Londoners looked completely disjointed, en route to a harrowing eventual defeat.

Wilfried Zaha opened the afternoon’s scoring from the spot 15 minutes from time, before a late double on the part of substitute Odsonne Edouard ensured a 3-0 final scoreline, and got the Patrick Vieira-Palace era up and running in style.

‘You serious?’

In turn, on the back of their side’s first defeat of the season, it should not come as too much of a surprise to hear that the Tottenham faithful have not exactly been in jubilant mood over the last 24 hours.

Upon a somewhat tone deaf post making its way onto the club’s social media platforms on Sunday, the Lilywhites faithful were therefore quick to make their frustrations known.

The post in question features Emerson Royal – who endured a rough debut outing up against Wilfried Zaha – in action during the Selhurst Park clash, as showcased below:

And just some of the baffled replies, on the part of fans of both Spurs and rival clubs alike, can be found below:
