Real Madrid v Tottenham
It’s still a few weeks away, but Tottenham fans are already getting excited for their next Champions League match.
So far, it’s been brilliant for Spurs in the Champions League.
They put in their performance of the season so far at Wembley beating Borussia Dortmund 3-1 in their opener.
Last week Spurs beat APOEL 3-0 away from home as Harry Kane scored a hat-trick.
With two wins in the bank, Tottenham’s next game is a biggy away at Real Madrid. The double reigning champs have also won their opening two matches of the Champions League.
Good news for Danny Rose
This weekend the Sun on Sunday have raised hopes that Danny Rose will be available for the Real Madrid game.
Rose has been out of action for months, after he sustained a knee injury in January.
But his days on the sidelines may be coming to a close, as the Sun report the following:
The Tottenham full-back has been stepping up his recovery from a knee injury and could be a fortnight away from a return.
That means Rose will be in the frame to face the European champions away at the Bernabeu on October 17 if there are no setbacks.
Is he better than Ben Davies?
Some Spurs fans, however, will be hesitant about Rose’s return.
Few have forgotten Rose’s explosive interview with the Sun in the summer – is it a coincidence the red-top are pushing for Rose’s return?
At the same time, Ben Davies has been performing brilliantly at left-back.
A Tottenham fan has done the number drilling and has provided clear proof that Spurs are a better team with Ben Davies than Danny Rose.
Over the past three seasons, when Davies starts Spurs win 65.57% percent of the time.
This drops significantly to 44.0% with Rose.
And, the points difference is also large. Davies averages 2.08 per start. Rose is at 1.72.
Tottenham also enjoy a better goal difference when Davies starts as well.
