Tottenham provide teams news update before Red Star Belgrade

Tottenham vs Red Star

Tottenham are set to host Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday, in their 3rd Champions League clash of the season.

Spurs have not had the greatest start in the 2019/20 Champions League, and really need to pick up a win.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men would draw their opening group game 2-2 vs Olympiacos.

Spurs were then hammered 7-2 by German giants Bayern Munich in their 2nd group tie.

This put the north London outfit down to 3rd in their group, level on points with 4th placed Olympiacos.

It is Tottenham’s upcoming opponents that currently occupy second spot in Group B. But Spurs can overtake them, should they emerge victorious on Tuesday.

However, that is easier said than done, given Tottenham’s recent form.

As well as a poor start to their CL campaign, Spurs lost in the League Cup to Colchester, lost 3-0 vs Brighton in the league and, most recently, they were held to a 1-1 draw at home in the Premier League vs bottom of the table Watford.

Tottenham team news update

Ahead of the clash with Red Star Belgrade, Tottenham posted a team news update to their official Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

The tweet mentioned both Christian Eriksen and Hugo Lloris.

Eriksen would miss Tottenham’s draw with Watford this past weekend with a dead leg, with Spurs now claiming that the midfielder has returned to training.

Tottenham then commented on Hugo Lloris, stating that the goalkeeper continues to be monitored and has commenced the early stages of rehabilitation.
