Tottenham & Man United stars nominated for UEFA Goal of Season award

2020/21

The 2020/21 campaign is officially over and we are now already preparing to kick off next season, which begins for most sides in August.

2020/21 was an interesting campaign, which began fairly late and saw Covid-19 take its toll, whether that be due to fixtures needing to be rescheduled, players catching the virus or injuries piling up as organisations tried to cram so much football into a reduced season.

Regardless, we are now through what was a very memorable campaign that will no doubt be remembered for many years to come.

UEFA announce Goal of the Season contenders

And with all club and international tournaments in Europe now over, UEFA have released their official Goal of the Season nominations.

Amongst the nominations are two players who play their club football in England.

First up is Dele Alli, whose overhead kick vs Wolfsberg in the Europa League Round of 32 has been put up for the award.

Elsewhere, Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is on the shortlist after his wondergoal for France vs Switzerland at Euro 2020.

France would eventually lose said tie on penalties, but it was nevertheless a stunning strike:
