Tottenham & Man City on alert: Star Bournemouth trio expected to move on following club’s relegation

The latest speculation stemming from the English media today suggests that Bournemouth are set to part with 3 of the club’s key men, on the back of their return to the Championship.

Bournemouth down

Eddie Howe’s men made the trip to Goodison Park this past weekend, as part of the season’s final round of Premier League fixtures.

The Cherries headed into proceedings aware that the club’s fate was out of their hands, having sat adrift of both Watford and Aston Villa in the battle for survival.

Mathematically, Bournemouth were actually still in with a shot of beating the drop, but they needed both of their fellow relegation candidates to fall to defeat, whilst requiring a victory over Everton.

To their credit, the visitors went on to pick up an impressive win at Goodison Park, courtesy of goals from Josh King, Dominic Solanke and Junior Stanislas.

Watford, meanwhile, also slipped to defeat at Arsenal.

It was Aston Villa, though, who condemned Bournemouth to a season back in the Championship, with the Claret and Blue having bagged an all-important point at West Ham.

Ake among expected exits

As outlined above, meanwhile, if the latest speculation surrounding the fallout from their return to English football’s 2nd-tier is to be believed, then it could be some time before Bournemouth’s supporters are treated to Premier League football once more.

This comes with at least 3 of the Cherries’ star men now expected to move on.

As per the reliable Peter Rutzler of the Athletic, all of Josh King, Nathan Ake and Callum Wilson are set to depart the Vitality Stadium this summer.

This of course comes on top of Ryan Fraser’s exit, on the back of the expiration of the Scottish wide-man’s contract.

Eddie Howe, meanwhile, is set for showdown talks with the Bournemouth board, with the tactician’s future having also been thrown into doubt.

In terms of potential landing spots for the Cherries’ wantaway stars, Tottenham have been heavily linked with Callum Wilson, whilst recent reports have gone as far as to suggest that Nathan Ake is ‘expected‘ to join Manchester City.
