Tottenham Jose Mourinho claims Ferguson wouldn’t agree with Solskjaer’s trophy comments

Tottenham vs Man United

One of the weekend’s more high-profile Premier League ties plays out on Sunday afternoon and sees Tottenham host Manchester United.

With eight games of the campaign remaining, United are sat 2nd in the Premier League, a full nine points clear of 5th.

So, whilst it is not certain, the Red Devils do look set to secure Champions League football for 2021/22.

Tottenham, meanwhile, still have it all to play for in the PL. At present, Spurs are sat 6th in the English top-flight, just two points behind 4th place West Ham United.

Mourinho takes swipe at Solskjaer

Ahead of what is a huge tie for Spurs, Jose Mourinho has begun the mind games with his latest opponent.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to win any silverware during his stint in the United dugout, instead being knocked out of three semi-finals.

Solskjaer recently discussed his lack of trophies, claiming that they are more of an ‘ego thing’.

Mourinho, though, evidently holds a different view and he also voiced his opinion that Sir Alex Ferguson has a different view to OGS when it comes to trophies:

“It’s his opinion. I’m pretty sure his big boss Sir Alex had a different opinion about it. But I respect what Solskjaer thinks. I think different.

“Freedom of thinking, freedom of ideas, and if that is what he thinks that is fine by me. It’s not a problem for me, he’s not being disrespectful to anyone.

“But I repeat I believe his big boss, and the biggest in Premier League history, has a different view in relation to that.”
