Over the last few days, Tottenham joined both clubs in the race to sign the Brazilian forward.

The North London club were keen to sign Malcom last January, however, Girondins de Bordeaux were unwilling to let him go.

Mauricio Pochettino is an avid admirer of the forward and is pushing for the move to be completed.

Tottenham now believe that this winter is their time to move for the player.

Spurs are even willing to offer more than what the Spanish champions paid for Malcom in July.

It is understood that Pochettino’s side could offer around €50M to Barcelona during the winter transfer window.

Pochettino has hinted that Tottenham are looking to add to their squad in January.

The Argentine manager admitted that all coaches are keen to sign new players every six months “to change the dynamic in the dressing room”.

Pochettino said:

“All the coaching staff, managers, always want to improve the squad with signings and players from the academy because football is dynamic.

“Every six months you need to do something to refresh and to wake up, or to change the dynamic in the dressing room. Always.

“We tried to sign players but we could not achieve what we need or what we want.”
