Jose Mourinho & Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino won’t criticise Jose Mourinho

A Mourinho fan

Jose Mourinho might be coming under fire from all directions this season, but there’s one man who is backing him.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino noted he has a good relationship with the Man United boss.

Poch also offered some support to Mourinho and said that a manager is always under the microscope and fighting a losing battle.

“I am not here to talk about my opponents,” Sky Sports report Pochettino said.

“I need to consider some aspects because we are going to play with them but I am not going here to trash what they are doing or what happened around them.”

“I have a very good relationship with ‘Mou’ from when I was manager in Espanyol and of course I have full respect for him and Manchester United.

“When you are manager you are (in the spotlight).

“The people are trashing you, talking about your decisions.

“Of course when you win all the people know that you are good but when you lose all people know that the manager was wrong.

“At all Premier League clubs we are so exposed.”

Premier League title credentials

The meeting between United and Spurs is already a huge one in terms of the top four.

After seeing Brighton beat United, Spurs have a chance to get a huge boost, and leave Mourinho’s men with only three points from a possible nine.

Likewise, Mourinho knows his side need to get back to winning ways, and will go out to boost his side’s chances of a Champions League finish.
