Spurs enter talks with Jerome Boateng, club reports anti-Semitic abuse

Premier League return

News broke last week that Jerome Boateng is set to leave Bayern Munich this summer, in a mutual decision, bringing the curtain down on a magnificent decade in Bavaria.

He was won over 20 trophies and was part of the side that has twice won a league, cup and Champions League treble. He was also a part of the Germany team that won the World Cup in 2014 in Brazil.

Sky Sports Germany have confirmed that talks between Tottenham and the player have already taken place and that a return to the Premier League may be incoming.

Boateng spent a season at Manchester City back in 2011 in which he made over 20 appearances for the club, before returning to the Bundesliga with Munich.

It seems that there isn’t a single day that passes without there being a call for social media to do more against racism, discrimination and abuse of any kind, and today seems to be no different.

Tottenham has made a complaint to Twitter following more ant-Semitic abuse laid at the club and specifically it’s Chairman Daniel Levy.

It is obvious that everyone wants to see an end to these stories and for the platforms to do more to prevent abuse of any kind. It seems that Football as a whole is starting to consider it’s options with regards to the continued lack of assistance from the platforms and there is likely to be more stories on this in the very near future.
